We are a vanagon engine conversion and repair shop. We work on vanagons and nothing else. Our mission and goal is to make you love your vanagon even more and have you driving down the road in comfortable, trouble-free style. To that end we provide the following services:

Complete Subaru engine conversion service

Drive in and drive out (or haul it in and drive it out!). You select your engine and whatever options you need. We can perform other mechanical upgrades to your van simultaneously. Many things like starters, clutches, transmission, CV joints, radiators etc. can be replaced at the time of conversion for relatively low labor cost as we are dealing with those components. For complete reliability, it pays to do it once and do it right.

Turn-key Subaru engine conversion package

This product is a long-awaited option for those who want a Subaru motor in their van but lack the facilities or the technical ability to tackle a full-on conversion. The kit is shipped ready-to-install, with all hoses, clamps, fasteners, special tools, and wiring included. A key point to this conversion is that there is no splicing of wires. NOT EVEN ONE. The wiring is totally plug and play. Once you remove your vanagon harness, just snap together four connectors to connect the subaru wiring.

If you don't wish to do the actual install, your local shop should be able to install this into your van for 15 to 20 hours of labor, not including pulling your WBX motor. Automatics and syncros need a bit of extra work and would be on the high end of this estimate, and regular 2WD manuals are the simplest. Reasonably competent home mechanics with a garage to work in will also have no problem installing the four-cylinder. Our rule of thumb is: if you are comfortable pulling out your old motor, you can install one of our turn-key conversions. We do not recommend it for your first wrench-turning experiment.
